Good sports

Emmer Green Pre-School held its annual Sports Day on July 1. Children aged two to four

Emmer Green Pre-School held its annual Sports Day on July 1. Children aged two to four took part in races including egg and spoon, hurdles and relay, watched by their families who cheered them on. There were also fiercely competed mums’ and dads’ races. Each child was congratulated and presented with a medal and certificate by their key worker. Florence Thomas, four, said: “My favourite race was the relay race because our team won it. It was really exciting doing the races and I liked watching the mummies and daddies run too — they were really fast!” Supervisor Wendy Robins, said: “This is one of the staff’s and children’s favourite events in the pre-school calendar. After the fun on the sports field all the children and their families sit down to a big ploughman’s lunch. It’s a fantastic way to all celebrate together as we near the end of term and get ready to say goodbye to those children who will move on to primary school in September.”
