Lava lamp project introduces pupils to joys of science

PUPILS at Lewknor Primary School have been learning the fun side of science.

They experimented with yeast to make bread, learned how to make a lava lamp using water, oil and Alka Seltzer and carried out an experiment on colour using food colouring as they learned how the human digestive system works.

Parents could see the results of the experimwents at a science evening at the school. showed off their science skills at an evening for parents.

Headteacher Deborah Cole said: “Children learn best when they are having fun and lessons are creative so we try to stay away from boring work sheets and actually get the children doing things. The children love it — they are so excited and they are bursting to show their parents the different experiments.”
