Primary’s £700,000 extension set to open

A NEW classroom has been built at Badgemore Primary School in Henley.

The £700,000 extension includes a kitchen, wet play area and toilets.

The outside is clad in cedar wood to reflect the surrounding woodland.

Building contractor Carillion handed the keys to the school last week and the new wing will be furnished in time for its official opening on Wednesday by Henley Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak. The extension is part of a £2.3 million project to double Badgemore’s capacity from just over 100 pupils to 210.

Over the next year the main hall, entrance area, kitchen and staff room will be refurbished. The hall and kitchen will then be available to hire for community events.
