New headteacher for Badgemore Primary School

Badgemore Primary School in Hop Gardens, Henley, has a new headteacher.

Jacky Steele, 51, is moving from Alfred Sutton Primary School in Reading to replace Mel Carruthers on April 22.

Ms Steele said: “I’m really excited. It’s a lovely school and I’ve already met quite a lot of the parents.

“All the staff and children are so positive and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”

Ms Steele, who lives in Lower Earley, has been teaching for 22 years and worked at schools in Nottingham and London before joining Alfred Sutton in 2000.

She said: “I want to build upon the partnerships with parents. Lots of them are already very involved with the school but I want to get all of them on board so I will be knocking on doors and meeting them all.

“I’m also keen to raise the profile of Badgemore in the community.”
