Supporting food bank

PUPILS at Robert Piggott Junior School in Wargrave have raised £370 for food bank charity Readifood.

The children collected the money at events during the winter term, including a carol concert and the school play.

The biggest amount of £95 came from year six.

School secretary Diane Rebbeck said: “This was a wonderful community activity leading up towards the Christmas celebrations. We are particularly proud of year six for donating half of their funds, the other half going towards their end-of-year party.”

The school will present the money to the charity later this month. Readifood is a by referral emergency food parcel service for people in genuine need.
