New Head sought for Caversham primary school

A NEW head is being sought for a Caversham primary school which has received an “inadequate” rating from Ofsted.

St Anne’s Catholic Primary School in Washington Road was visited by inspectors in November.

They found that while there had been improvements in pupils’ attendance and behaviour, their progress was “too variable” and the pace of learning was “too slow”.

Reading Borough Council says it is working with St Martin’s Catholic Primary School in Caversham Park Village, which has a “good” Ofsted rating, to recruit an experienced executive head to lead both schools.

St Anne’s currently has an acting head.
