A vibrant, welcoming school

A REVIEW in The Good Schools Guide described the Oratory Prep as a “vibrant, welcoming community”.

This was re-affirmed by a recent ISI inspection where the pupils’ overall achievement and personal, spiritual, moral and social development was classed as “excellent”. Pupils’ attainment was also judged to be “excellent” in relation to national age-related expectations.

This was all good news and in particular, the comments made about the school’s EYFS setting where they have seen the opening of the newly built “Little Oaks” for boys and girls aged between two and four and where inspectors judged that children are “highly motivated and participate enthusiastically in all learning experiences”.

The official opening of Little Oaks was last Thursday when staff were delighted to welcome Mr Bloom from CBeebies to entertain the nursery and kindergarten children. The school was also praised for its extra-curricular provision.

At the other end of the school, Year 7 pupils have their trip to Rome to look forward to at the end of March and Year 8 pupils are currently fund-raising for their conservation tour to South Africa that takes place in July.
