HEMDEAN HOUSE offers affordable independent education with a friendly and calm working environment. They have class sizes of approximately 16 boys and girls in the junior school and 12 girls in the senior school.
At Hemdean House, great emphasis is placed on pastoral care: they seek to identify, nurture and celebrate each child’s gifts and talents within a caring community based on Christian values. They cherish their multi-cultural, multi-faith environment.
Staff develop an active partnership with parents, recognising that only with a full understanding of their child’s personality and enthusiasm will they be able to make their learning a true adventure.
Staff get to know every individual member of the school community and boys and girls know they have an important contribution to make. Their confidence grows with support and guidance from dedicated and experienced teaching staff.
Many pupils achieve level 5 in English and Maths at the end of Year 6 and gain places in their first choice of senior school, including successful admissions to Kendrick and Reading Schools.
