NINE schools in and around Henley closed during the national teachers’ strike on Wednesday.
The industrial action was called by the National Union of Teachers over changes to staff pensions and pay and what it called “excessive” workloads.
Ninety-seven schools in Oxfordshire and 17 in Berkshire were either partially or fully closed as teachers joined marches in Reading and Oxford.
Three primary schools in Henley — Valley Road, Trinity and Badgemore — were shut while Gillotts School was open to pupils in years 10 and 11 only.
In Sonning Common, the primary school was closed and Chiltern Edge secondary was open to year 11 only.
