Easter bonnet parade raises funds for pre-school

CHILDREN at Emmer Green pre-school staged an Easter bonnet parade featuring home-made hats.

Parents and teachers watched the parade at the community centre in Grove Road, accompanied by the Pharrell Williams song Happy.

First prize went to Fletcher Bramley for his hat made out of four recycled egg boxes with Max King second and Luke Haigh third. The three four-year-olds were each presented with an Easter egg.

After the parade, the children went to the neighbouring St Barnabas’ Church for an Easter service before returning to the pre-school for an Easter egg hunt and raffle.

The event was to raise money for new toys and equipment at the pre-school.
