STUDENTS at The Henley College have been celebrating after the number to be offered places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities doubled compared to last year.
The delighted final year students have recently received offers of places on degree programmes in subjects including maths and computer science, history, chemical engineering, biological sciences and experimental psychology. The total number who received an offer represented an impressive 70 per cent of those who applied to either university.
Principal Tom Espley said: “I would like to congratulate our students who have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge.
“Every year nearly three quarters of our students continue on to higher education, with many also securing places at Russell Group institutions and other leading universities.
“Our high achieving students continue to benefit from the specialist support and opportunities offered through our gifted and talented programme. This includes additional information and guidance sessions, specialist trips and guest speakers, support with applications and admissions tests and completion of the extended project qualification.”
