Boys win ‘owl tie’

TWO students at Shiplake College have received the “owl tie”, which is given for positive contributions to college life and only rarely awarded.

Tom Arnold is head of college and Gus McCulloch is head chapel warden.

Both are keen rowers and Tom is set to row in the college 1st VIII at Henley Royal Regatta this summer.

Tom also sings and plays the saxophone in a number of the college’s music ensembles.

Headmaster Gregg Davies said both boys were great role models, who displayed humility and selflessness in everything they did.
