Free gym membership offered to best PE students

PUPILS at the Piggott School in Wargrave have an extra incentive to do well in their PE exams with a year’s free gym membership on offer.

Nuffield Health is offering the prize to the top student in each GCSE PE class.

The charity, which has a network of hospitals and wellbeing centres, opened a fitness centre at the school’s new maths block in October.

It is used by students during the day and is open to the public after 5pm on weekdays and throughout the day at weekends.

Alistair Hugo, who runs the centre, said: “We wanted to support the Piggott PE department in a way that incentivises students and helps them strive to achieve high results in exams.”
