Children learn the benefits of walking

CHILDREN in Charvil took part in National Walk to School Week.

Pupils at Charvil were encouraged to walk, cycle or scooter to school rather than going by car.

The school received a pack with wall charts, stickers and trophies from the organisers, Wokingham Borough Council and charity Living Streets.

Of the 25 pupils at Charvil Piggott primary, six walked to school every day and on one day only four pupils went by car.

School secretary Jeanette Winsor said: “Stickers were given out to children who actively made their way to school without a car and if they did that for three or more days they received a trophy.
