School defibrillator for use by everyone

A DEFIBRILLATOR is to be installed at Benson Primary School.

The life-saving device was presented to the school after parents applied to children’s charity Hand on Heart, which aims to prevent deaths from sudden cardiac arrest.

It will be placed outside the school in Oxford Road in a metal container provided by the parish council and can be used by the community.

Pupils and staff were joined by councillors to be taught how to use the defibrillator by trainer Darren Stickings, of Hand on Heart.

Headteacher Helen Crolla said: “The school is very central to the village and we thought it would be a wonderful way to contribute further to village life.
