Children deliver harvest produce to elderly

PUPILS celebrated harvest festival by visiting a care home in Sonning Common.

Children and staff from Peppard Primary School went to the Abbeycrest in Kennylands Road where they delivered fresh fruit and vegetables. They then sang for the residents and chatted to them.

Manager Marilyn Kimayong said: “It is a delight to have the children from Peppard Primary School visiting us every year. Our residents enjoy seeing and listening to them.”

Earlier in the day, the children attended a harvest assembly at All Saints’ Church, in Church Lane and delivered dry goods to Springwater Church in Blounts Court Road.

Headteacher Nick Steele said: “Our harvest assembly was our busiest for a few years. The church was as packed as it is for Christmas.”
