Children to plant 105 trees

CHILDREN at Wargrave Pre-School have been given 105 trees to plant around the village.

The saplings were donated by the Woodland Trust as part of a scheme to plant three million trees across the country over the next four years to mark the centenary of the First World War.

The pre-school in Eastview Road was one of 3,000 schools and youth clubs to receive trees.

It has six different species, including rowan, hazel and birch.

The exact locations for the trees have not yet been decided but the pre-school has asked Wargrave Parish Council for permission to plant on its land.
