RAF men tidy school garden

PERSONNEL from RAF Benson revamped Ewelme Pre-School’s garden.

PERSONNEL from RAF Benson revamped Ewelme Pre-School’s garden.

The six engineers chopped back shrubs, cleared dead foliage, tidied flower beds, planted herbs and flowers and repaired and secured fencing and storage areas.

They also created a hotel for bugs using recycled materials.

Corporal Mike Instone, who led the team, said it was a team effort and all the men enjoyed the work.

“It was hard-going thanks to the weather but the regular supply of tea and cake from the kind staff at the pre-school helped,” he said.

“We’re really happy to have been able to help and it is definitely something that we would do again.”
