Rupert House gets new head teacher

A NEW headteacher will start work at Rupert House School in Henley in September.

A NEW headteacher will start work at Rupert House School in Henley in September.

Clare Lynas replaces Niki Gan, who is retiring after seven years at the independent preparatory school in Bell Street.

The mother-of-three is currently deputy headteacher at Thorngrove School, near Newbury.

She read English at St Andrew?s University and has a master?s degree in child development from the University of London.

Mrs Lynas qualified as a teacher at Moray House College in Edinburgh.

She has worked in a number of independent schools and has experience in teaching early years foundation stage through to key stage four.

Mrs Lynas and her husband Michael, a director of the Ambassador Theatre Group, are parents to Tom, 18, Archie, 16 and Rory, 11.

She said: ?Rupert House has an excellent reputation for its high academic standards and for its happy, welcoming atmosphere.

?I am delighted to be joining the school and look forward to getting to know the pupils, parents, staff and governors in the months ahead.?

Mrs Gan said: ?I know that everyone at Rupert House will welcome Mrs Lynas.

?I have enjoyed every day of the seven years I have been here and will miss the children, their parents and my wonderful colleagues very much.

?I would like to wish everybody connected with the school every success for the future.?

Meanwhile, a new leader has been appointed at Sacred Heart Pre-School in Greys Hill, Henley.

Babs Morgan joins from Marlow Bottom Pre-School, where she was the graduate leader, and has more than 11 years? experience in early years education.

She will work to the early years foundation stage framework, manage staff and liaise with the pre-school?s management committee of volunteer parents.

Mrs Morgan said: ?Sacred Heart is a lovely pre-school and I look forward to working closely with the children, their parents and carers.

?I have a fantastic team with a wealth of knowledge and together we aim to ensure that we provide lots of enriching experiences and opportunities.?
