About 80 pupils from every year group took part in the annual event. Classes were divided into groups of boys and girls and competitors had to flip their pancakes at the start line and halfway along the course.

There were also races for parents, teachers and mothers with toddlers.

Volunteers from the Stoke Row Independent Chapel served hot drinks and parents cooked pancakes in the chapel kitchen.

Parent-governor Clare Cormack, who helped organise the event, said: “The children had a great time — they look forward to it every year.”
