A CHILDREN’S nursery is to open in Peppard in April.
Peapods Nursery School will be in a Dutch barn at Manor Farm, which has been refurbished.
It will take up to 24 children aged two to five and is registered with Ofsted.
Owner Louisa Hopcroft, a mother of three who has worked in childcare for 15 years, said: “It has been my dream to have my own nursery so it’s really exciting.”
Mrs Hopcroft, 36, was granted planning permission in December.
The barn was previously a café and farm shop and has been slightly extended at the back. The work was carried out by Mrs Hopcroft’s husband Daniel, 36.
New toilets have been installed, the barn has been redecorated and the garden has been secured.
The nursery will be a forest school where the children will be able to spend a lot of time outdoors while learning the curriculum.
Mrs Hopcroft, of Kings Acre, Wargrave, said: “It’s in a really good location surrounded by fields and woodland.
“There will be an area of woodland specifically for use by the children, who will be taken out for a couple of hours at a time to let them explore their natural environment and be free.”
Mrs Hopcroft, who grew up in Peppard, already has two children registered and is now looking for more customers.
Following the announcement that the Wise Owls creche at LA Fitness in Henley will close before Easter, she has been asked if she can take on some of its children.
