School of the future

CHILDREN at Benson Primary School designed a sustainable school building during a workshop for gifted and talented pupils.

CHILDREN at Benson Primary School designed a sustainable school building during a workshop for gifted and talented pupils.

Twelve children from years one to six created the model with a grass-seeded roof and solar-powered and motion-energy saving watches.

Professor Ray Ogden, an architectural and mechanical engineering researcher at Oxford Brookes University, who has two children at the school, helped the children.

The pupils also brainstormed ideas such as holding classes in a communal area and keeping farm animals for food.
