KANE SMALL, an extended IT diploma student at The Henley College, was taking part in the final of the National Science and Engineering Competition today (Friday).

The competition recognises young people’s achievements in all areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Last year, Kane, from Caversham, had five weeks’ work experience at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, near Didcot, where he created a web interface for a database, allowing users to quickly search and view server profiles.
