STUDENTS and staff at The Henley College received a first-hand perspective on the economy on Budget day last week.

Ian McCafferty, the newest member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, gave a talk called Economic Challenges in a Changing World.

He said: “I am pleased that students are interested in economic issues. It was a pleasure to give them a briefing on recent developments and to listen to what they had to say on the economy.”

College Principal Tom Espley said: “A large number of very high-quality students are studying economics and business and I know they in particular will have enjoyed and benefited from this lecture.”
