BRIGHT World Guardianships is a company which acts in loco parentis for international students living in UK boarding schools and whose parents do not live in the UK. The company acts as their guardian.

Students are allocated to a British host family which becomes part of the Bright World team and hosts the students during short holidays — some weekends and half terms when the schools close and all UK students go home to mum and dad.

Welcoming a young person from another culture is an experience that everyone in the family will benefit from. It is an opportunity to find out more about the world, the enjoyment of sharing new ideas, the chance to understand another person’s values and so much more.

By becoming a host family you can experience the pleasure of offering hospitality and open your family’s minds to the wider world.

Bright World does pay generous expenses to host families so it can be a useful source of extra income as well.

Bright World is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment — all of our families agree to CRB checks and house inspections.
