MORE than 1,000 competitors will take part in the seventh Henley Triathlon at Gillotts School on Sunday, June 23.

There will also be a children’s fun triathlon for seven- to 16-year-olds on the previous day.

The main event will consist of a swim in the pool at Henley leisure centre, a cycle race on local roads and a run in the grounds of the school.

The event, which is organised by UK Triathlon, is open to individuals and relay teams and is aimed at athletes of all abilities and levels of fitness, including charity and fun entrants.

Zoe Steenson, from UK Triathlon, said: “It provides competitors with an enormous sense of self-satisfaction and enjoyment as well as allowing participants to show a competitive edge.”

The children’s event, now in its fourth year, will take place within the school grounds.
