School spring fair raises £1,500

ABOUT £1,500 was raised at Nettlebed Community School’s spring fete on Saturday.

ABOUT £1,500 was raised at Nettlebed Community School’s spring fete on Saturday.

Attractions included children’s face-painting, raffles, tombolas, beat-the-goalie and archery.

Year one teacher Tom Last allowed pupils and parents to tape him to a board and guess how long he would stay in place after the benches below him were removed. Former pupil Tom Barlett made the winning guess of five minutes.

There were pony rides in the playground courtesy of Little Heath dressage in Park Corner and Henley dance school Stephanie’s Stage Stop gave two performances.

Most of the proceeds will go towards 20 iPads for the school with the rest going to Happy Days Pre-School.

School secretary Tracey Sedwell said: “I think we did well considering the unpredictable weather. Thank you to all the parents and the community for supporting the event.”
