THE nursery at St Mary’s in Henley is a warm, secure environment where dedicated staff care for children, acknowledging them all as individuals.
Independent from the main school building yet close enough for the children to access all the main school facilities, it is complete with its own “outdoor classroom” space where children enjoy a broad choice of activities. Excellent staffing levels with activities differentiated to the individual needs of the children ensure a secure start to the learning journey that carries children forward into the school.
The Early Years Curriculum is delivered with emphasis on planning based around the children’s interests. Music and French are taught separately by qualified teaching staff from within the school and all nursery children take part in musical productions. Trips are also planned to further enhance teaching and add to the enjoyment of the nursery experience. A home-cooked lunch is provided with both a morning and afternoon nursery session and children are encouraged to take part in snack preparations.
Through the school’s ethos, small groups and the learning experiences provided, the staff strive to move the children towards independence. Entry into nursery begins in the term in which the children turn three.
St Mary’s is holding a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Friday, June 14 from 11am to 12 noon for two- to four-year-olds. To book a personal tour call (01491) 573118, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.stmarys-henley.co.uk
