Children visit Gloriana as part of summer activities

THE summer term has been particularly busy at Dragonflies Montessori School.

The school successfully gained accreditation from the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board. The accreditation gives parents the reassurance that Dragonflies offers their child an excellent preschool education in compliance with Montessori principles.

The school opens Monday to Friday during term time and children can join from the age of two years.

Supporting their topic on the ocean, Sarah Weldon talked to the children about her planned row across the Pacific Ocean in May 2014 from California to Hawaii.

The children enjoyed a workshop led by Maddie Farmer and a visit to Ratty’s garden at the River and Rowing Museum. The term ended with school sports day which proved to be an exciting event with wonderful weather for all 52 children and their parents. Finally, another outing took the children to the Royal Regatta boat tents. An extra unexpected treat was for the children to be invited aboard the Gloriana, the Queen’s row barge.

Dragonflies Montessori School operates from two locations in the centre of Henley, accessible by all the town’s residents.

For more details contact the principal, Lisa Drage. Applications are now being received for places in September.
