Sporty pupils are pitch perfect

A cricket team from Benson Primary School have been crowned county champions.

A cricket team from Benson Primary School have been crowned county champions.

The year five and six girls team beat a team from King’s Meadow School to win the ASDA Kwik Cricket Oxfordshire county finals at Radley College, Abdingdon.

They will now go forward to the regional finals which will be held in Edgbaston on Tuesday (July 9).

Tania Hadfield, the school’s physical education and sports co-ordinator, said: “We are very excited about our success, another indication of the enthusiasm, talent and determination of the children at Benson.

“This year 96 per cent of the children have taken part in after-school clubs and inter-school competitions.

“Benson School is proud to be keeping alive the Olympic flame.”
