ABOUT £1,200 was raised at the annual Sonning Common Pre-School summer garden party.

ABOUT £1,200 was raised at the annual Sonning Common Pre-School summer garden party.

Sunday’s event saw 150 parents and children through the gate.

There were traditional games such as hook the duck, hoopla and spin the arrow, a bouncy castle as well as a tombola, barbecue and cake stand. A silent auction had prizes which included hire of a beach hut at Milford-on-Sea, pedicures, manicures and days out.

Sarah Massey, a member of the organising committee, said: “It it the biggest fund-raiser of the year and we are really pleased with the good turnout and the weather was gorgeous.”

The money raised will go towards craft equipment, toys and cooking ingredients for the children to use while at pre-school.
