A-level pass rate

IN Oxfordshire, an estimated 90 per cent of pupils achieved two or more passes with about 45 per cent gaining

IN Oxfordshire, an estimated 90 per cent of pupils achieved two or more passes with about 45 per cent gaining at least a B.

Across the country, there was a fall in the proportion of top grades for the second year in a row.

Just over a quarter of passes — 26.3 per cent — were at A* or A grade, compared with the 2012 figure of 26.6 per cent.

The national pass rate was 98.1 per cent, a small rise on last year.
