STUDENTS and staff from a Spanish school visited Icknield Community College on an exchange trip.

Twelve pupils from IES Valle del Cidacos in Calahorra attended lessons at the Watlington secondary school during their week-long visit.

They also went on day trips to London and Oxford with their host families.

Dearbhla Loughlan, modern foreign languages teacher, said: “Our students have benefited hugely from this experience.

“They relished the opportunity to learn about Spanish culture and have made lifelong friends in the process. As a school, we are enjoying a renewed enthusiasm for communicating in Spanish and are looking forward to creating other educational links abroad to promote a global outlook in our community.”
