THE Piggott School sixth form offers outstanding opportunities for students who are seeking to either study for A levels or for those who wish to take more vocational courses.

Results in A levels have been consistently strong in recent years in traditionally “academic” subjects like maths, the sciences, English and the humanities, while excellent outcomes are also achieved every year in the arts, languages, business-related and social sciences courses.

Highly successful BTEC courses and VRQ coaching are also available for students who wish to take a more vocational route.

In addition students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills across a variety of programmes in sport, the arts, community work and volunteering, both in school as well as in the community.

Students are taught and required to demonstrate transferrable skills much sought after by employers — such as initiative, teamwork, communication and independence.

In 2012 the school completed its new sixth form learning area equipped with eight dedicated classrooms and 140 computers, exclusively for the use of Key Stage 5 students.

They look forward to welcoming current and external students to the next open evening where information on all courses and opportunities will be available.
