From Twickenham to Paris

TRAVEL and tourism students at The Henley College have made trips to Twickenham and Disneyland, Paris.

TRAVEL and tourism students at The Henley College have made trips to Twickenham and Disneyland, Paris.

First and second year students visited the national rugby stadium to learn more about hospitality and event management.

The trip was made possible thanks to travel and tourism teachers, Rachael Staines and Jenny Parmenter, who have been working closely with the World Rugby Museum.

Meanwhile, first year students made their annual trip to Disneyland.

The highlight for many was a climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, followed by a walk down the festively-lit Champs Elysees. The students also visited the Christmas markets, with some taking part in a dance led by a street performer.

Student Catherine Wood, said: “I enjoyed the amount of free time to visit the park and to go up the Eiffel Tower. Seeing Paris from the second stage was mind-blowing.”

Mrs Staines added: “It is great that the students enjoy themselves, but more importantly that the visit relates to many of the topic areas studied during the two year course.”
