Peppard children in O2 performance

CHILDREN from Peppard Primary School performed with the world’s largest children’s choir at the O2 Arena in London.

CHILDREN from Peppard Primary School performed with the world’s largest children’s choir at the O2 Arena in London.

Twenty-one pupils joined 7,400 other children from across the country for the show, which was organised by Young Voices, a national body which brings children together through music.

The Peppard children had rehearsed songs and dance routines in their music lessons for months before the two-hour show on Thursday last week, which was attended by parents. Headteacher Nick Steele said: “The children sang their hearts out, danced their feet off and slept like logs all the way home. It was an unforgettable day. We will definitely go again next year.” Young Voices was launched 18 years ago and stages school choir concerts at major venues across the country.

Among the professional musicians to have taken part are Gary Barlow. Katherine Jenkins, Beverley Knight and Joss Stone.
