Pre-school celebrates

FORMER teachers, pupils and parents are being invited to a party to mark the 50th anniversary of Emmer Green Pre-School

FORMER teachers, pupils and parents are being invited to a party to mark the 50th anniversary of Emmer Green Pre-School.

The pre-school opened at St Barnabas? Church Hall in Grove Road in March 1965.

It gradually expanded and in 1990 relocated to Emmer Green Youth and Community Centre, where the party will take place on Saturday, March 14.

Supervisor Wendy Robins, who has worked at the pre-school for the last 22 years, said: ?I?ve seen many changes but the education and well-being of the children have remained the primary focus.

?We are fortunate to have had very committed and hardworking staff over the past 50 years who have always gone the extra mile to support and encourage the children.

?We are looking forward to celebrating with everyone who has played a role in making it such an important part of the community for so many years.?

If you would like to attend the party, call Mrs Robins on 0118 901 5612.
