New school "years away"

CONTSRUCTION of the new Peppard Primary School is unlikely to start this year.

CONTSRUCTION of the new Peppard Primary School is unlikely to start this year.

Barry Wood, chairman of Peppard Parish Council, made the announcement at a council meeting this week after visiting the school in Church Lane.

He said: “The likelihood of the building starting in the next year is low. We are talking several years for the school to move.”

The primary was granted planning permission in 2011 to move to a new site next to the B481 to the north of Peppard Common but the move has been stalled by a lack of funding.
