THE Abbey School is a vibrant and welcoming community of more than 1,100 girls aged three to 18.

Unrivalled academic excellence is achieved in a warm and supportive pastoral environment where the desire to inspire and energy to aspire enables girls to achieve their potential.

Our wide-ranging extra-curricular programme encourages girls to develop their interests and talents and discover their passions. A balanced approach to life and learning ensures that girls go on to lead successful, fulfilling lives.

The Abbey is consistently one of the country’s top-performing schools academically. In 2014 57 per cent of GCSE papers received an A* grade (89 per cent A*/A). At A-level 94 per cent of papers were graded A* to B, while the International Baccalaureate Diploma average score of 38 points confirms the school’s world-class delivery of the IB programme.

From nursery to sixth form the school’s ethos is centred on empowering girls to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners. Our dedicated teachers inspire the girls with enthusiasm for their subjects, with the recent Independent Schools Inspection finding that “teachers are visibly ambitious for their pupils and in lessons they share a mutual respect.”

This strong and positive partnership between student and teacher is one of the hallmarks of The Abbey and is highly valued by the girls and staff alike. Find out all about The Abbey at one of our spring open mornings. Visit www.theabbey.co.uk for details.
