A taste of Van Gogh, a chateau, Dorset and parliament

IT has been a busy start to the summer term at Rupert House.

IT has been a busy start to the summer term at Rupert House.

We have benefited from stimulating visits from ‘Vincent Van Gogh’ and the Story-Telling Wizard.

Year six stayed in a beautiful French chateau for a week and year five enjoyed a residential field trip on the Dorset coast.

Year six girls also profited from the practical training of a Bikeability course and the Upper School broadened their general knowledge with a mock election.

On Friday, post-election, year six visited the Houses of Parliament. In the afternoon, they visited The Globe and saw a live performance of The Merchant of Venice.

Rupert House School is a member of the prestigious IAPS prep schools association. It is an independent school in the heart of Henley which caters for girls and boys aged three to 11, with boys leaving after year two to attend a range of highly regarded schools.

The school prides itself on delivering a caring family atmosphere that nurtures children to give them confidence and a sense of belonging.

One should never underestimate what children are able to achieve in a stimulating, supportive and caring environment such as we provide at Rupert House.

At a time when the national curriculum has been narrowed down, we proudly boast that sport, drama, music and the arts are essential aspects of what we do to give our children a well-rounded start.

The children are also reaping the benefits of our substantial recent investment in a new suite of 20 Apple Mac computers and iPads.

Deciding on the right school for your child is very important and we believe a personal visit is invaluable. We are always delighted to welcome prospective parents and their children and we very much hope that you will visit us, meet the headmistress and take a tour of the school.

We hold a number of open mornings during the year. These provide a general introduction to the school and will include a tour.

Our next open morning is on Wednesday, May 20, from 10am to noon. If you would like to attend or arrange a personal visit please contact the office on (01491) 574263. We look forward to welcoming you.
