ALMOST £6,000 was raised at the 13th annual Borlase golf day held at Henley Golf Club.

Ninety-two players with a connection to Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in Marlow took part in the competition.

The winners were a Sainsbury’s management team called The Wombles, captained by Adrian Robins, who also led the same winning team eight years ago.

The other members were Mike Bridger, Steve Howey and Rob Cole.

The runners-up were FYM United consisting of former Olympic hockey players Phil McGuire and Simon Nicklin as well as Jeremy Chinn and Richard Clarke.

Former BBC presenter Steve Rider presented the prizes and regaled the audience with stories of his days as a BBC golf presenter.

The money will go towards the provision of hockey at the school. The event was organised by Sally Woolven.
