TWO Olympic rowers gave out the winners? medals on sports day at their children?s nursery school.

TWO Olympic rowers gave out the winners? medals on sports day at their children?s nursery school.

Helen Casey and double gold medallist Andrew Triggs Hodge also competed in the parents? races at the Early Days Nursery in Ipsden.

About 50 under-fives took part in fun challenges including watering can and pushchair relays and a warm-up based on the song Row, Row, Row Your Boat.

Triggs Hodge, who lives in Checkendon, was there with his 20-month-old son Sebastian. After the races, he showed the children the gold medals he won in the men?s coxless four at the Olympics in 2008 and 2012.

He said: ?It?s great to see so many active, vibrant and energetic kids. It?s really healthy for them to be outside enjoying exercise.?

Casey, who lives in Woodcote and rowed in the women?s lightweight double sculls at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, attended with her daughter Charlotte Sudbury, three. She said: ?It was a great, fun day.?
