GCSE pass rates in English and Maths at the Piggott School have gone up after papers from this year’s exams were remarked.

The school in Twyford Road, Wargrave, sent off several papers to exam boards to be looked at again and received the upgraded results last month.

The number of pupils who got 5A* to C grades including English and maths pass rate has now risen to a new high of 77 per cent, compared to the previous total of 75.2 per cent. English results have also increased from 79 per cent to 81 per cent.

Headteacher Derren Gray said: “Teaching staff have forensically analysed data and results have increased in a number of departments.”
