As the apple harvest drew to a close, the children at Denning Montessori School in Fawley visited the orchard in Highlands Lane, Henley, to collect and prepare fruit for eating and pressing for juice. The orchard is owned by Nick and Banny Hay, whose son Caspar attends the school.
Jenny Blain, owner and principal, said: “We all had a wonderful time and are very grateful to Nick and Banny, who welcomed the children and parents. The children learnt a lot about the orchard, apples and how they are prepared for juicing. A big thank-you, too, to the Rodolph De Salis, who provided lots of fun with tractor and trailer rides. We couldn’t get the children out the trailer!”
