School fair success

MORE than £2,500 was raised by a Christmas fair at Stoke Row Primary School.

MORE than £2,500 was raised by a Christmas fair at Stoke Row Primary School.

The money will go towards the school’s £10,000 appeal for new electronic signs to deter speeding on the road outside where pupils cross.

The fair included stalls, games, a tombola and Santa’s grotto and received £1,000 in sponsorship from developer Millgate, which is building eight new homes nearby.

Jonathan Cranley, sales and marketing director for Millgate, said: “It was the perfect time of year for the local community to come together and we hope the money raised will make a big difference as we know the signage is much needed.”

Headteacher Charlotte Harris said: “The Christmas fair was very successful and enjoyed by all who attended.

“I would like to thank Millgate for their generous donation, which meant that we could afford more games and prizes for the children.”
