A new £1 million IT centre at Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning was opened by Fujitsu executive director

A new £1 million IT centre at Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning was opened by Fujitsu executive director Helen Lamb. The 500 sqm centre has four suites and more than 90 computers. Ms Lamb, who was listed among the 50 most influential women in IT last year, unveiled a commemorative plaque outside the building watched by students and guests, including the contractors and school governors. Ms Lamb said: “The facilities are incredible and will make the way the children learn second to none. I’ve definitely got school envy — I want to come back and start again!” Headteacher Michael Windsor said: “I have no doubt that our pupils and teachers will enjoy working in these new surroundings and that they will make the very most of these new facilities.” The school’s new design technology centre should be completed in the summer.
