ATHLETE Luke Lennon-Ford taught a PE lesson at Emmer Green Primary School.

The 26-year-old, who will represent Team GB in the 400m at the Rio Olympics this summer, gave a talk on his career and answered questions from pupils during a morning assembly.

He then led the entire school through a half-hour workout which included press-ups, star jumps, leg drives and “spotty dogs”, a jumping routine.

The athlete walked around, offering encouragement and advice. PE co-ordinator Alex Burgess said: “The children loved it. Having an athlete in the school made them more enthusiastic than in a regular PE lesson. Luke put on music which really kept them focused and made it feel like a gym.”
