Potholes shock head

THE headteacher of Peppard Primary School is urging parents to complain about the condition

THE headteacher of Peppard Primary School is urging parents to complain about the condition of the road outside the school.

Nick Steele said the number of potholes in Church Lane was “shocking” and that the lay-by that goes from the B481 to the street was also in poor condition.

He said: “You have to drive down there at three or fourmiles per hour because if you went any faster it would damage your car. One of my governors got in touch with Oxfordshire County Council [the highways authority] but they said they had not had many complaints. If more people complain then it’s more likely the road will be repaired.”

• Potholes at three car parks in Peppard have been filled. David Einig Contracting carried out the work at the Gallowstree crossroads, sports pavilion and Red Lion car parks as a gesture of goodwill after his lorries were pictured parked at the crossroads during restricted hours.
