Head of The Henley College resigns

The principal of The Henley College has resigned

The principal of The Henley College has resigned.

The college announced on Thursday (17) that Jayne Davis had stepped down from the role due to “a change in her family circumstances”.

Mrs Davis became the college’s first permanent female principal when she took over from Tom Espley in December 2014.

Deputy principal Simon Cuthbert, who has been at the college for 25 years, will take over the job alongside two assistant principals until a permanent replacement is found.

In a statement, the college said: “Despite being at the college for just fifteen months, Jayne made a very positive impact and embedded many new initiatives which further improved the high quality of teaching and learning and strengthened the excellent pastoral care of the students.

“Jayne’s experience, skills and untiring pursuit of excellence will continue to benefit the college moving forwards.”

The board of governors has a group to recruit Mrs Davis’s replacement in time for the next academic year in September.
