THE Abbey School invites your daughter to start a journey of discovery and inspiration that will give her a love of learning and friendships for life.

The Abbey is consistently one of the country’s top-performing schools academically, achieving 25th position in the

Sunday Times
’s Parent Power rankings in 2014 thanks to record-breaking GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate Diploma results.

In 2015 71 per cent of A-level papers were graded at A* to A and the average score in the International Baccalaureate Diploma was 39, confirming the school as a leading provider of the IB programme.

These achievements, in tandem with the school’s balanced approach to life and learning as commended by an exceptional Independent Schools Inspectorate report, further strengthen its reputation as a leader in girls’ education.

From nursery to sixth form, the school’s ethos empowers girls to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners. Extracurricular opportunities play an important part in school life, with music, drama, art and sport plus many interest clubs contributing to a happy, energetic atmosphere that is highly valued by our girls.

Opportunities to develop leadership skills are offered throughout the school, from organising charity afternoons in the junior school to Young Enterprise and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in the senior school and sixth form.

The Abbey School is located close to Reading town centre, just a 10-minute walk from the newly refurbished Reading Station, which will be welcoming Crossrail trains from next year.

The school also offers an extensive coach travel network.

Our spring open events are an excellent opportunity to experience all that the Abbey has to offer. Join us to share in the remarkable journeys of some of our current pupils and to talk to our inspirational teaching staff.
